List Of The Winners of The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

On a night marked by political speeches opposed to Donald Trump and the celebration of diversity being increasingly present at the awards, the 2017 Emmy Ceremony was dominated by the Hulu series , The Handmaid’s Tale . The production, based on the novel by Margaret Atwood – who took the stage at the end of the prize – took home six major category trophies, including best drama series, best dramatic actress for Elizabeth Moss and best supporting actress for Ann Down .

Big Little Lies was also duly honored this Sunday night (17). The HBO mini series won five awards: Best Miniseries, Best Miniseries Actress for Nicole Kidman- who competed with Reese Whitherspoon in the category – Best Supporting Actress in a Mini-Series for Laura Dern- who also played for Shailene Woodley- Best Supporting Actor in a Mini-Series for Alexander Skarsgard and best direction in miniseries for Jean-Marc Vallée.

In addition to the stamped Veep and Saturday Night Live statues , Donald Glover and his Atlanta comedy , as well as Master of None , were two of the highlights of the comic series of the evening, notably Lena Waithe’s heartfelt speech when Aziz Ansari received the award for Best screenplay for the episode “Thanksgiving”.

Stephen Colbert conducted the public very well, sparing the political pinch, closely watched by former White House spokesman Sean Spicer , who played an unusual part in the ceremony. The opening musical number and his brief visit to the Westworld universe were also high moments of the night.
